Pears, Pears, Pears

I have so many pears this year. We love them, the horses love them, but man are they a pain to peel! I am not talking about the soft pears people grow up North, I'm talking about the hard Asian pears we grow in the South. Today I made pear cake, pear bread, and I am gathering the ingredients to make pear chutney later in the week! My grandmother made the most delicious chutney ever. Unfortunately, I do not have access to 12 cups of cut up mangoes so I am going to try pears with her recipe. Stay tuned and we will see how it turns out!

Something New

I thought I would start this blog, mostly for myself, to record things I make and do that make me happy. It seems like I am forever making things for gifts, giving them away and then have no record of what I spent my time on. Sometimes people ask me about my different projects so this is a record I can refer them to as well. I hate it when I go through all the trouble to design something, work out my ideas, and then when I want to recreate what I did...I find I made no real record of it. And half the time I have given it away, so I can't even consult the finished project. So this blog is my promise to myself to fix that problem! Oh, and the name? There is something about seeing pansies in the winter that always makes me happy, so here it is a record of things that make me happy. If you happen to read along, I hope you enjoy.
